Late summer edit, 3 Block contest

Last night Skate Naked held a small best trick contest on the newly constructed 3 block section of the park. It was pretty spur of the moment so there weren't all that many people there.. That being said, the skating was still really great. Adam at the park put up $50 cash and Barkow from Embassy matched it with a $50 gift card to the shop. Dan Charlton took it with a wallride down the whole thing... below is a video edit from the past month. Including last night's contest as well as some stuff from the Gatorade Free Flow contest at the Flow last weekend.

Al in Columbus

Dayton local, Alan Krohn came to Columbus on Sunday and filmed a "one day" part. Filmed by his brother Austin, They went to a ton of local spots and ripped. I'm really amazed at how many places they skated and how many tricks were landed in a single day... Al gets boards from Alien Workshop and also rides for One Love skateshop in Dayton.

Going West!

For the last couple weeks a bunch of Columbus and Akron kids have been on a skate trip heading to the West Coast. Among the crew is Chad Butler and Embassy Boardshop riders, Max Palmer, Ben Perkins and Dan Charlton. They are slowly making their way across the country skating spots along the way. Some of them are planning on staying out there for awhile. I think Ben said he's going to try and stay out there indefinetly. Dan will be catching a flight home eventually..

Chad has posted up some really good footage from the trip so far. Good luck out there Ben!

ALL Friday

This friday night is going to be a busy one.. First off there is a benefit show at Ravari Room. There are a bunch of bands playing, but the headliner is ALL! Yes ALL; like all the dudes (except Milo) from the Descendents. Hell yeah. I'm down to sing along and act like a teenager! The show is a benefit for Rob Behler. Rob is a Columbus skater who has been diagnosed with a rare form of terminal lung cancer. Come out support a great cause and enjoy some classic punk rock.
Before or after the show, headover to the Skate Naked Skatepark. The park will be host to the monthly hip hop dance party known as Get Right. These two events are both on the opposite ends of the spectrum I suppose, but they both should be a great time...
