Skate Naked...video update
Taylor just texted me letting me know he posted a really short video of the Skate Naked park. As you'll see; it's still under construction. From what they have done, it's looking like it might be really fun. I'm gonna try to check it out for myself sometime this weekend.

Max in NYC
My friend Max Palmer is from Columbus. He's currently going to school in New York. Here is a video of him and some of his friends skating around the city. Max is one of the few kids that moves to the city and actually continues to skate a lot. I'm pretty sure there is a good chance he's moving back here when he graduates this spring...So look out! Max also rides for Embassy Boardshop..

Kickstand Pub ramp session
Last night was the opening party/session for the ramp at the Kickstand Pub. I got there around 7:30 and there were about 30 skaters hanging out and skating. I'm not sure what this place is like on a normal night, with it's whole motorcycle theme and the fact that it's near Polaris... I can only imagine. However, last night it was fun. Aside from a few employees, it was all skateboarders. There was a really great mix of people skating, getting along and shredding. As of now the ramp will be open on Sunday and Monday evenings. 21+ mostly..

Taylor Nawrocki's making a video..... this is the updated promo. Not much to it. The sound effects do have meaning. If you know, well then you know. At the end it says who's supposed to have parts.
My name's included... I guess now I have to try and film some stuff....

Ollies
Driving 2 hours to skate a good park sucks... But Ollies in Florence Ky is pretty damn fun. Alowe, Ashley, Barkow and I went down there to skate yesterday. Totally crowded with bikes and kids but it was a good time. There were two girls there killing it. They were better than most the boys. Frontside flips on the mini, back smiths on the ledges. It was impressive.

Skate Naked...???
Eric tipped me off to this one as well... So, I guess we're getting a new indoor skatepark in Columbus.. Grandview specifically. it's called "Skate Naked"... For real. The 'about' on the website says "Skate Naked is Columbus, Ohio's only indoor street skatepark. It is a 20,000 square foot skatepark. Located in the heart of Ohio. We are bringing the best street spots into one place. Our Skatepark is full of good street, good transition, and good flow." The photos show an empty warehouse.. Other facts are bi-weekly contests, it's open till 3 am and they have a multi media crew to tape your session for a "reasonable" price. Now I'm REALLY skeptical about this...I have the feeling that someone with no connection to skateboarding is behind the park. The contact name is Adam. Besides this I have no clue as to who is behind this whole thing. I know I tend to be a glass half empty type of person but this gives me a really bad feeling. Seriously. What parent is going to take their kid to a park called Skate Naked??? I hope I'm wrong. I hope it's awesome. website: http://skate-naked.com/
*****UPDATED 1/20/2011*****
I felt the need to update this post since it pops up on search engines when people are looking up "Skate Naked".
The park has been open for over a year now. It turned out that despite the unusual name the park IS indeed legitimate. The place has proven to be a great asset to the skate community here. Adam and his crew are dedicated to giving us a great place to skate. They've changed up the park numerous times and added a bowl in the second room. As you have read above, I was quite skeptical originally, however I'm really pleased to say that I'm glad these guys are around.
